Outlook 2013 IMAP Manual Account Setup  Print this Article

  1. Open Outlook 2013.
  2. Click the File tab, then click the Add Account button.
  3. Choose the Manual setup or additional server types option, then click Next.
  4. Choose the POP or IMAP option, then click Next.
  5. Under User Information, verify and correct the following:
    • In the Your Name box, make sure your name appears as you want it to appear to other people.
    • In the Email Address box, make sure your full email address appears (ex. name@yourdomain.com).
  6. Under Server Information,configure the following settings:
    • Set the Account Type option to IMAP.
    • In the Incoming Mail Server box, enter the mail server you have been assigned (typical mail.yourdomain.com).
    • In the Outgoing Mail Server box, enter the mail server you have been assigned (typical mail.yourdomain.com).
  7. Under Login Information,configure the following settings:
    • Set the User Name box to your full email address (ex. name@yourdomain.com).
    • In the Password box, enter your email password
    • If you want Outlook to remember your password, check the Remember password option. Otherwise, you will be prompted to enter your password each time you open Outlook.
  8. Click Next to complete the account creation wizard
  9. Click Finish
